I wanted to share some background on this special pet photo session. From Ginger’s owner:
I always planned to get a photo session with Stephanie and with my dog, Ginger, but kept putting it off for a better time. I imagined our session in a specific season, when I could plan ahead and align a haircut for me and grooming for her, made all the trickier in the pandemic. All the details that I thought I needed to line up for the future perfect time when I would book our session. Assuming I had more time with her.
When Ginger was diagnosed with a tumor and given 2-3 months to live, the thought of being able to plan in advance seemed overwhelming, not knowing how she might be feeling at that point, where to take her where she would be safe and comfortable.
Stephanie offered to come to us and was so sensitive and kind to our situation. On the day of Ginger’s photo session, she was slowing down but still her happy self, and we took her to the woods near our place that she has enjoyed on our walks for the past few years.
Stephanie worked with a happily distracted pup with such kindness and patience, waiting for the right shot and capturing sweet candid moments in between. I’m so grateful to Stephanie for her flexibility for our impromptu photo shoot in spaces we enjoyed in our daily lives that Ginger was already comfortable with and for helping us document our remaining time together.
