Viva Gullett Winner – Family Photo Session

Viva Gullett Winner – Family Photo Session

“The best things in life are the people you love, the places you go, and the memories you make.”

This year’s Viva Gullett Auction winning family redeemed their prize with a fall photo session at their extended family’s farm in Dripping Springs, Texas.

We made sure to take photos under the tree where this Mom & Dad got married.

And also took photos with the kids’ sporting equipment, the family dog, and all around the farm. Please check out some of my favorite images below and contact me if you’d like to book your own photo session this year.

1. What prompted you to have this photo session? We’ve wanted for long while to get family photos done by Stephanie, knowing her amazing work and that she had the patience to handle our challenging brood. It’d been years since we had professional photos of our family.

2. How did you choose your location for your session? We chose a location dear to our hearts where our kids would feel comfortable and relaxed taking photos.

3. What advice would you give to others planning a similar photo session? Take Stephanie’s advice and suggestions, she’s the best!

4. Anything else you’d like to add about working with Stephanie Friedman Photography? Stephanie makes the photo shoot fun and creative. Her professionalism, skill, and flexibility made it an overall enjoyable experience.

The Mad Hatter – Halloween Photo Session

The Mad Hatter – Halloween Photo Session

“Mad Matter: “Have I gone mad?”
Alice: “I’m afraid so. You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.” – Lewis Carroll

Five years ago, she was the Red Queen at the Zilker Botanical Gardens. When she decided on the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland for this year’s Halloween Costume – it only made sense to go back to the Gardens.

With a vintage tea set and accessories (and keeping out of the way of the wedding, quinceanara and homecoming photos also happening that night), we explored the grounds and had our own tea party.

This Halloween photo session is one of my favorite yearly events. From discussing props to choosing the most appropriate location to embracing the character, it’s always a lot of fun.

And I got to bring a few favorite tea cups from home to lend to the shoot.

Why Headshot Photos are Important

Why Headshot Photos are Important

The Power of Headshots: Why personal branding matters

personal branding photo

In this digital world, your online presence matters. And your headshot could be someone’s first impression of you.

Whether you’re looking for a new job or well established in your industry, headshots are a crucial investment in your personal brand.

Here are my Top 5 reasons why Headshot Photo Sessions are important:

  • Create a strong first impression: Your headshot is often the first thing viewers see when they visit your website, LinkedIn or social media profile. A professional headshot can present you as you wish to be perceived (warm and welcoming, stern and capable, friendly and silly, etc.) According to the Association for Psychological Science, it only takes 1/10th of a second for someone to form a first impression of you.

  • Build the “Know, Like and Trust” Factor: People can get a sense of your personality from your headshot photos. A polished headshot can convey professionalism and trustworthiness. A playful headshot can convey approachability and friendliness. A good branding photographer will help capture your exact personality.

  • Personal Branding: Your headshot is part of your Personal Brand. It should reflect your personality, style and values. It also shows your most up-to-date look.

  • Make connections: People connect better online with photos of people, not logos or abstract concepts. A headshot humanizes your brand, allowing your audience to connect with the person behind the business. It adds an important personal touch, fostering a sense of familiarity and trust.

  • Invest in your succcess: Consider a professional branding photo session an investment in your success. It shows your commitment to your career and will help you grow.

To summarize, headshots are not just photos – they are tools you can use to shape your online presence and career path.

Investing in a personal branding photo session is an investment in your future. Headshot photos are important in first impressions and in opening doors to new opportunities.

we love austin bingo card illustration

I love Austin, and I’ve lived here for over 20 years. I’m sharing a Bingo card game of my top places, activities and events that I think make Austin so special and unique.

Save this list for the next time you have out-of-town visitors to entertain or want ideas for your own staycation.

Also keep this list in mind when trying to decide on a location for your next photo session. And if you have must-experience Austin suggestions to add to this list – please let me know.

PS. Did you get a BINGO?

I’ve experienced all of these except two?

(Can you guess which ones?)

It’s Formula One and going to a live ACL music taping.
