The Social House in Cedar Park – Family Photo Session

The Social House in Cedar Park – Family Photo Session

This lovely family just adopted their fifth child and wanted to document this time in their life. The mom also has a book coming out and needed some updated headshots. So we went to The Social House in Cedar Park, TX for a combination family and mini-branding photo session.

Wildflowers in Round Rock – Extended Family Photo Session

Wildflowers in Round Rock – Extended Family Photo Session

I wanted to share some background on this extended family photo shoot in Round Rock:

This year has been an incredibly difficult one for all of us, including my mom. In January, we lost my older brother, Blandy very unexpectedly, and it was unbelievably devastating. The purpose of the photoshoot was a surprise gift for my mom of us and the grandkids. As part of our healing process, I thought it would be nice to present her with happy moments of our family this year on Mother’s Day.
The main reason I wanted to do a location outside with flowers is because my Mom is a garden fanatic and loves plants and flowers. I also know that Blandy wanted to have flowers planted in the front of the house this year and needed my mom’s help. He always enjoyed being outside so all of these were reasons for my location.
I love that Trinity wore one of her dad’s shirts for the photos. It made it seem like Blandy was there with us.
I think that Blandy would want us to do things like this together and he would be proud that we did.

Bull Creek – Senior Photo Session

Bull Creek – Senior Photo Session

Austin Senior Photo Session at Bull Creek District Park

For this McCallum Class of 2021 Senior, we choose Bull Creek for his portrait session location. It was a mix of hiking, guitar playing, and wading in the water.

Please enjoy some of my favorite pictures from his Senior portrait session below.

University of Texas Graduation – Senior Photo Session

University of Texas Graduation – Senior Photo Session

Here are my Top Five Tips to have a successful Senior Portrait Session at the University of Texas campus:

  1. Try and pick a weeknight for your session date. Some popular spots (like the Architecture Library doors) get long lines this time of year for photos
  2. Shake your champagne really well before opening it (and bring an extra bottle just in case)
  3. Pack a towel for post-champagne and post-fountain dips (and leave the dip in the Littlefield Fountain for your last shot of the night)
  4. Bring an extra pair of comfortable shoes for walking between spots
  5. Make sure you have your all your graduation regalia pressed and ready to go (cap, gown, tassel, etc.)

This graduate had scouted out all the spots she wanted for her session. It made it so easy to go from place to place to make sure we got all the locations she wanted. Please enjoy some of my favorite pictures from her Senior portrait session below.

Long Center – Spring Family Photo Session

Long Center – Spring Family Photo Session

Three things to remember if you’re shooting at the Long Center in Austin, Texas.

  1. Check their Event calendar first
  2. Realize their parking garage may be closed if there are not any events
  3. You will usually see lots of other photos shoots happening at the same time (so far this season I’ve seen Prom photos, roller skating and dance videos also using this location).
