Max & Miles – Graffiti Park

Max & Miles – Graffiti Park

We took the boys to the Hope Outdoor Art Gallery this past weekend. On the one hand, it’s great for the boys to see art where they can run around and be loud if they want to. On the other hand, with the littles, it’s rocky ground, no railings and when we were there, lots of empty spray cans and trash on the ground.

I was curious about Emma Long City Park. Would it work well for a family portrait session or just be a fun place to take the boys to play?

So we took the boys out one weekend morning – and I managed to get a few pictures before the thunderstorm rolled in. They enjoyed the small patch of “beach,” walking out on the docks, and just seeing how many campers were out as well.

If you have kids who like the water (and are old enough to be trusted to walk on the docks) – it’s a pretty site to visit (or be photographed in.) It costs $10/car on the weekend ($5/car weekdays) – though there’s a trail you can access for free before you get to the River. We’ll save that hike for our next visit…

Edited to add (9/28/15) – went back to Emma Long Park with Miles this weekend – funnily enough, wearing the same yellow shirt, and he had in no short time, gotten himself totally sandy and wet – but was in bliss.
