So you live outside of Austin*, and you’re wondering, “Where should I go for my family portrait session?”
Things I consider when scouting a location:
How scenic is the landscape? (natural or urban)
Can we find a variety of backgrounds?
What’s the comfort level for families? (i.e. bathrooms available, free parking, safe for little kids to explore, easy to get to)
Is it often crowded?
In what season does the location looks best? (great for wildflowers or fall color)
Where’s the best light in the morning vs. the evening?

Thanks to the location scouting here and here – we went back downtown for this costumed portrait session. Whether lassoing on rooftops or charging ahead for justice, this Wonder Woman shoot was full of fun.

Presenting: The Daupin Family at St. Edward’s Park. I don’t know what Felix enjoyed more – the giant stick he found to carry around, the creek by the waterfall or the sparkly Christmas trees I brought along – but all in all, along with his grandparents, we had a great time.
